Stand-Up Paddle Boards
The sport of Stand-Up Paddle (SUP) Boarding has exploded. Stand-Up paddling originated in Hawaii and has traveled around the globe. A combination of surfing and kayaking, SUPs are great for all ages and offer a great core workout.
COVID plan – we did not offer SUPs in 2020 and do not anticipate offering them in 2021 due to overall capacity limits on our property and in our facilities. Our focus will be on our guided rafting trips.
Book Your TripRent one of Crab Apple’s stable boards and tour the nearly one mile long reservoir behind our base on the Mohawk Trail in the Berkshires. We have an easy access ramp to flat water right behind our base and you will get a quick lesson (if needed ) before paddling away from shore. Paddle left, paddle right and get moving in a straight line on our inflatable boards. Head downstream and check out the scenery – wildlife sightings of beaver, geese, merganser ducks, turkey vultures and bald eagles are common.
In the summer, the water in the reservoir really warms up – into the 70’s, possibly 80 degrees! Definitely jump in for a swim or dip to cool off from the hot sun during your paddle … maybe 2 or 3 dips!
When you are done with your paddle, leave your board and gear by the ramp. Your car is just feet away and you can head to the changing rooms to get changed. Super easy access from your car right to the river.
Two hour rental $35 weekday, $38 weekend. Board and life jacket included.
